New Tecumseth has received $1.15 million in funding from the Government of Canada, to support its new Growing Canada’s Community Canopies initiative.
The project will see the planting of micro forests, food forests, and expanded street tree care—all aimed at boosting biodiversity, food security, and climate resilience.
The Town’s goal is to increase tree canopy coverage from 21% to 30%, bringing more shade and natural beauty to local neighbourhoods.
