The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made multiple arrests following a lengthy drug trafficking investigation.
In October 2024, the investigation into illicit drug trafficking occurring within Halton Region began, which resulted in three suspects being identified.
On July 7th, HRPS officers with the assistance of the Waterloo Regional Police Service, executed Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants on two residences in Waterloo Region – leading to the arrest of Jory Fourtunes and Justin Brown.
On July 30th, HRPS officers executed Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrants on a residence and two associated vehicles in Peel Region – leading to the arrest of Gabriel Brown.
As a result of the investigation, police seized the following items:
- Prohibited Glock .45 firearm with ammunition and extended magazine
- 1.6 kg of cocaine
- 750 grams of fentanyl
- 330 tablets of oxycodone
- 350 capsules of morphine
- 780 tablets of dilaudid
- $30,000 in Canadian currency
- Small amount of counterfeit currency
- Additional items of evidentiary value
Total street value of the drugs seized is roughly $300,000 (seized drug/currency amounts are approximate).
40-year-old Jory Fourtunes of Cambridge was charged with the following:
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance – Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000
41-year-old Justin Brown of Kitchener was charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
21-year-old Gabriel Brown of Mississauga was charged with the following:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Device or Ammunition, knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Breach of Storage Regulations
- Possessing Counterfeit Money
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine (2 Counts)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl (2 Counts)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Morphine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Dilaudid
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone
Fourtunes, Brown, and Brown were all held in custody pending their respective bail hearings in Milton.
