The fire danger rating in New Tecumseth was raised to HIGH yesterday, due to ongoing dry conditions.
This means fires can start easily from small sources like grass or debris and can spread quickly, especially on windy days.
Residents are urged to be extremely cautious with any open flames and to always follow the rules on their burn permits.
