Daisy Radigan has been recognized as Halton Hills’ 2025 Provincial Senior of the Year.
MPP Joseph Racinsky and Mayor Ann Lawlor presented the honour earlier this month, celebrating Radigan’s decades-long commitment to education, environmental advocacy, and volunteerism.
A longtime Georgetown resident and retired elementary teacher, Radigan also led Eco Retreats for high school students and holds a doctorate in eco-theology. Her community contributions span climate action, Indigenous education, and leadership roles in local initiatives such as GASP and Halton Hills Climate Action.
Radigan has also volunteered with senior centres, Food for Life, and played a key role in the Halton Hills Eco Filmfest over the past decade. Mayor Lawlor described her as someone who “truly exemplifies what a volunteer is all about – giving selflessly.”
MPP Racinsky called the award a meaningful way to honour individuals like Radigan, as she’s someone who brings “hope, energy, and a deep sense of purpose” to her community.
