The Halton Hills Public Library is inviting the community to a unique and inspiring event: Math in Drag, featuring drag queen and math educator Kyne!
This free, all-ages event blends performance, education, and personal storytelling. Known for her appearance on Canada’s Drag Race and her popular educational content online, Kyne will share her journey as a queer content creator and explain how math helped her discover her “power, pride and purpose.”
With her signature style, Kyne turns academic topics into vibrant, accessible experiences for all ages. The event is a celebration of learning, creativity, and pride.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Kyne to Halton Hills,” says Emma Lupinacci, Youth Services Librarian, Halton Hills Public Library. “Kyne’s story is an example of how learning, creativity, and perseverance can empower individuals and inspire others. She shows that math can be approachable, fun, and inclusive.”
Math in Drag is happening on Saturday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the John Elliott Theatre.
The fun doesn’t stop there – July 19th will also feature a full schedule of Pride-themed activities at the library, including:
- Rainbow Family Storytime and Crafts
- Sew Your Own Pride Patch
- A legal info session on name and gender marker changes with Halton Community Legal Services
- The Basics of Drag Makeup with Kamilla Flores
