A Scarborough man is facing multiple charges after a dramatic crash and foot pursuit in Barrie on Monday afternoon.
At 2:58 p.m., a Barrie Police officer on patrol saw a suspicious vehicle leaving a plaza near Essa Road and Tiffin Street. The driver failed to stop at a red light at Innisfil and Tiffin, striking a truck and a curb before rolling the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle uncovered suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and cannabis, along with evidence of drug trafficking. The driver was taken to Barrie Police Headquarters, where he was charged with a number of offences including:
- Possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Dangerous driving
- Flight from police
- Failing to remain at the scene of a crash
- Breach of a release order
He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
