The Milton Public Library has teamed up with the Prime Care Family Health Team to offer a weekly health-focused drop-in program tailored for older adults.
Held at the Sherwood library branch, this Live Longer, Stronger initiative provides assessments, guidance, and helpful resources in a supportive setting – without offering prescriptions or diagnoses. Each session is led by a Registered Nurse from Prime Care and covers practical topics that matter to seniors and their caregivers.
Julie Cordasco is one of those nurses. She says it’s an easy way to discuss and learn new things for older residents.
The program runs every Tuesday and highlights a different topic each week. Here’s what’s coming up this summer:
- July 15th – Heart Health: Young at Heart, Caring for Your Ticker
- July 22th – Easy and Fun Movement: Move It or Lose It
- July 29th – Living Well with Arthritis: Move Better, Feel Better
- August 5th – Sleep Tight: Better Rest for Better Days
- August 12th – Sweet Enough: Managing Blood Sugar with Confidence
- August 19th – Strong Bones, Strong You: Preventing Osteoporosis
- August 26th – Tune In: Tips for Better Hearing and Communication
No registration is required – just drop in and learn in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.
Each event starts at 10:00 a.m. inside the program room at the Sherwood library branch, located at 6355 Main Street West in Milton. They typically run 1-2 hours long and are free to attend.
This is just one of many programs the Milton Public Library offers year-round. Click here for the full calendar of events.
