A 31-year-old man from Barrie is facing a series of charges after a very eventful weekend with police in both Wasaga Beach and Tiny Township.
At around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5th, Southern Georgian Bay OPP stopped the man in Wasaga Beach for stunt driving. His vehicle was towed, and he was issued multiple tickets. Thing is, the day didn’t end there.
Later that night, at around 11:20 p.m., Huronia West OPP responded to a report of a vehicle with no headlights travelling northbound on Highway 93 in Tiny Township. Officers were surprised to find the same individual behind the wheel again – this time driving a friend’s vehicle while under suspension. That car was also towed, and more charges were laid.
Police say the friend is now also dealing with the fallout, as the second vehicle is impounded for seven days.
Officers say this incident is a reminder of the consequences of dangerous and illegal driving behaviour.
