The Town of Milton is taking action to raise awareness about water safety during National Drowning Prevention Week.
It’s happening July 20th to 26th, promoting safe practices and lifesaving skills in and around water – organized annually by the Lifesaving Society.
A series of free events will be held at Rotary Park and Rotary Park Pool, including:
- Lifesaving Competition (Friday, July 25th, 12:15 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.) – Registered participants from Milton’s Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross programs can test their skills in rescue simulations.
- Swim to Survive Lessons (Saturday, July 26th, 10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.) – Free 30-minute lessons for beginners to build confidence and learn essential survival techniques. Registration required.
- Lifesaving Educational Fair (Saturday, July 26th, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.) – Drop in to learn from Milton’s lifeguards how to call 911, perform CPR, and throw a rescue aid.
- Free Fun Swims (Saturday, July 26th, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.) – Enjoy open swim sessions on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions are one hour each to allow more groups to participate.
Residents are encouraged to take part and help make Milton a safer place to swim.
