Milton Town Hall
The Town of Milton is inviting residents, businesses, and community organizations to help shape the 2026 Budget by sharing their ideas and priorities through public engagement.
Each year, Milton’s Capital and Operating Budget funds key programs, services, and infrastructure projects that support the Town’s long-term strategic goals. The 2026 Budget will be guided by existing Town studies, plans, and feedback from the 2022 Citizen Engagement Survey.
Milton’s budget process ensures that limited resources are balanced against community needs. Feedback received through Let’s Talk Milton by August 22nd will be included in a report to Council on September 8th outlining anticipated budget pressures. Submissions after that date will still be shared with Council before final budget decisions are made on December 1st.
Key phases of the 2026 budget process:
- July–August: Public engagement
- September: Budget pressures presented to Council
- November: Budget released and reviewed during a Council workshop
- December: Final Council consideration and approval
The capital budget focuses on building and repairing infrastructure like roads, parks, and stormwater systems, funded through development charges, reserves, grants, and debt. The operating budget covers day-to-day services such as fire, transit, recreation, snow clearing, and park maintenance, largely funded through property taxes and user fees.
