An Oakville man 33-year-old man from Oakville was arrested for impaired driving Saturday morning in Guelph.
The unnamed 33-year-old was stopped after police noticed an invalid licence plate. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Gordon Street, when officers pulled the vehicle over and conducted further checks, leading to the driver’s arrest for impairment.
He was one of three motorists arrested for impaired driving in Guelph over the weekend. As a result, he received an automatic 90-day licence suspension and had his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was later released with a future court date.
One of the other impaired drivers managed to collide with a stopped transit bus.
Remember to plan ahead and avoid driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Anyone who suspects a driver may be impaired is encouraged to call 911 immediately.
