A major infrastructure project on Milton’s Tremaine Road is entering its final phase.
Halton Region says the brand-new, four-lane bridge is set to officially open on Monday, July 7th, with two lanes initially in use. This is expected to significantly improve travel between Steeles Avenue and Campbellville Road.
The new alignment includes a realigned roadway and a future Highway 401 interchange, expected to open in December 2026, which will provide direct highway access, reduce travel times, and support regional growth.
The Region adds that the existing Tremaine Road bridge over Highway 401 will permanently close on July 7th. Detours will be clearly marked.
There will be a temporary overnight closure of Highway 401 between Regional Road 25 and Guelph Line from 9:00 p.m. Saturday to 9:00 a.m. Sunday for bridge demolition. Traffic will be detoured to Campbellville Road, with signage and traffic control in place.
