An Oakville woman won the lottery after taking part in OLG’s newest experiential lottery game, Instant Money Machine.
Janice MacDonald has been playing the lottery for years. Her latest ticket revealed a ‘Money Machine’ prize, meaning she got to take part in a new live event.
“I didn’t know what that meant,” she said with a chuckle. “In the moment, I felt a little nervous and uncertain. Then, an OLG representative called the store and told me that the minimum prize at a MONEY MACHINE LIVE EVENT is $25,000. I was so shocked that my jaw dropped!”
All she had to do was see how much physical cash she can grab as it flew around her in a finite amount of time.
When the day of the event finally arrived, MacDonald was able to walk away with $75,000!
“I heard the countdown and thought, ‘Here we go — This is really happening!” Janice recounted. “When the bills started flying around me, I kept thinking, ‘OMG!’ I could feel my excitement building and was trying to keep myself calm and grab the bills as fast as I could. They kept flying all over my face!” she laughed.
With her winnings, Janice plans to invest for her future and treat herself to a new car.
The winning ticket was purchased at Joe’s Market on Kerr Street in Oakville.
