A truck stolen from Halton has been recovered by South Simcoe Police.
On Friday, June 13th, at roughly 2:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police were conducting proactive patrol in a commercial plaza on Holland Street West in Bradford West Gwillimbury. At that time officers observed an unoccupied heavy duty straight truck that warranted further investigation.
They examined the truck and determined that the vehicle, a 2025 Freightliner, was reported stolen from York region days earlier. The truck was found to be complete with a load of commercial goods intact. The value of the recovered vehicle and goods is valued at roughly $300,000.
As the investigation continued, officers observed two other unoccupied heavy trucks parked nearby that had similarities to the first truck. As a result of further investigation, South Simcoe Police recovered a brand new unregistered 2023 white Freightliner straight truck, stolen from Halton, and a 2023 white Freightliner Cascadia tractor trailer, reported stolen from Peel. The combined value of both vehicles is roughly $275,000.
As a result of the investigation, three transport trucks were recovered valued at a total of over half a million dollars.
