Local residents can expect a temporary closure for the parking lot at the Milton GO Station.
Metrolinx has begun a series of upgrades at the station, with work scheduled to take place over the next year to enhance accessibility and improve the overall commuter experience. The first phase is already underway and includes upgrades to the station building and accessible washrooms.
Starting Monday, June 16th and continuing until July 11th, the north-east corner of the station’s parking lot near Main Street East and Drew Centre will be temporarily closed to complete drainage repairs. Roughly 210 parking spaces will be unavailable in that area, along with an additional 10 spaces in the south-west corner of the lot.
Commuters are advised to follow all posted signs and use caution around construction zones. Note that the schedule may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Future phases of the project will include resurfacing the parking lot, train platform, and bus loop, as well as upgrading platform shelters and lighting. Metrolinx says it will continue to keep the public informed as the project progresses.
