South Simcoe Police are teaming up with Équité Association to crack down on auto thefts across the region.
South Simcoe and Barrie Police Services will receive $1.8 million through next year to enhance efforts around prevention, detection, and enforcement.
“This collaborative effort is just one of the ways our service is working to prevent auto theft and ensure our communities know that we are actively working to secure their vehicles and enhance community safety.” said John Van Dyke, Chief of the South Simcoe Police Service.
Police urge drivers to take precautions like locking doors, using anti-theft devices, and installing tracking systems.
