Families, students, staff, and community members are invited to a virtual session hosted by the Halton District School Board (HDSB) as part of the Director’s Panel Series.
Led by Director of Education Curtis Ennis and Human Rights & Equity Advisor Pardeep Nagra, the Director’s Panel Series addresses critical issues in education, featuring a diverse range of voices including students, parents, and subject-matter experts. The upcoming session will feature members of the HDSB’s Indigenous Rights and Education Department and focus on how the board promotes Indigenous Rights through education, advances reconciliation, and supports Indigenous student achievement.
“This session provides an important opportunity for our students, staff, families and community members to deepen our understanding of the true history and current realities of Indigenous Peoples,” says Ennis. “It also serves as a platform to amplify Indigenous voices, engage in meaningful dialogue and commit to actions that uphold Indigenous Rights and advance reconciliation through education.”
The session, Indigenous Rights and Education: A Shared Responsibility, will take place on Monday, May 26th from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and will be livestreamed here. No registration is required.
Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance through a Google Form.
