Two drivers were caught in the act while attempting to race on a busy Milton road.
Over the long weekend, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) shared to social media that two high-end sedans were spotted side-by-side on Steeles Avenue in Milton. As the light turned the green, the pair took off, not realizing that a police vehicle was behind them.
The pair were quickly stopped. Both drivers were charged, their vehicles were seized and licenses were suspended.
Earlier this month, the HRPS were named as partners in a GTA-wide initiative known as Project ERASE. The campaign is tackling street racing and other poor driver behaviour through education and strategic enforcement.
