Kristina Tesser Derksen, Liberal Party of Canada candidate for Milton East-Halton Hills South in the 2025 federal election
Kristina Tesser Derksen has confirmed on her official Facebook page that she has won the race to be the Member of Parliament (MP) for Milton East – Halton Hills South.
This comes after a judicial recount was held for the riding after the validation process flipped the victory from Conservative candidate Parm Gill to the Liberal Party’s Tesser Derksen. The reported victory was by just 29 votes, which made the margin less than 0.1 percent of the total ballots cast. The recount began on Tuesday, May 13th in Milton and was finalized late last night.
Tesser Derksen posted to social media, saying she’s ready to get to work.
“Last night, a judicial recount confirmed the outcome of the race in Milton East–Halton Hills South.
“I am profoundly honoured to be elected as your Member of Parliament, and I’m excited to begin this work – together, we’re going to make this community an even better place.
“I thank the incredible volunteers, dedicated supporters, and everyone who helped drive this campaign. This just wouldn’t have been possible without you.
“To people across Milton East–Halton Hills South, no matter who you voted for, know that I’ll work tirelessly to be the strong voice you deserve in Ottawa. I’m here for everyone.
“I’m ready. Let’s get to work!”
