The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested an officer serving a nearby jurisdiction.
In January, the Guelph Police Service received a public complaint following an interaction between a citizen and an on-duty Guelph Police Service officer that happened on Monday, January 13th.
As a result of an investigation conducted by the HRPS, a 13-year member of the Guelph Police Service has been charged with assault. The officer has been reassigned to administrative duties. They’ll appear in court in June.
The Guelph Police Service’s Professional Standards will also be conducting an investigation of the circumstances.
