New Tecumseth Mayor Richard Norcross says he will continue to lead with collaboration and transparency, following the expansion of “strong mayor” powers by the Province.
While the new powers give him greater authority over municipal decisions, Norcross has delegated key responsibilities — including organizational structure and employment matters — to the CAO, and committee-related decisions to Council.
He noted that while the annual budget must now be presented as “the mayor’s budget,” it will remain a joint effort with staff and Council.
