The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested five suspects and laid multiple charges after a stolen vehicle was located in Oakville.
On Friday, May 2nd, at 2:30 a.m., officers observed a stolen Honda Civic travelling in the area of Ninth Line and Dundas Street East. They attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the driver refused and fled the area. Officers searched the area and located the vehicle on Presquile Drive, where the vehicle was found disabled after colliding with a curb. The vehicle occupants fled on foot and attempted to escape through nearby residential backyards, They were quickly arrested.
Investigation determined the vehicle to be stolen out of Toronto.
As a result of the investigation the following have been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000.
- 19-year-old Justin Goulbourne of North York
- 19-year-old Laamaani Hall of Etobicoke
- Unnamed 16 year old male resident of Montreal
- Unnamed 15 year old male resident of North York
- Unnamed 14 year old male resident of Toronto
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and therefore, the identities of the young persons charged in this investigation are protected.
All were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
