Milton Fire and Rescue Services is now better prepared to respond to high-rise emergencies after receiving more than $25,000 worth of lifesaving equipment from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada.
A special grant award celebration was held on Thursday, May 1st at the Firehouse Subs location on Santa Maria Boulevard in Milton where community members gathered for the official cheque presentation.
Thanks to the donation, local firefighters were equipped with nine new high-rise kits. These kits are designed to help crews effectively manage fires in tall buildings by improving water flow and ensuring reliable supply during emergency response.
“We’re proud to give back to Milton Fire and Rescue Services and provide them with this essential equipment,” says Steve Panella, local Firehouse Subs franchisee. “Supporting hometown heroes is at the forefront of everything we do.”

The equipment is expected to play a key role in strengthening the department’s ability to protect lives as the town continues to expand upward.
“We are honoured to receive this generous grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation,” adds Milton Fire Chief Peter Gatto. “This support will significantly enhance our fire services, ensuring we remain well-equipped to continue safeguarding our growing community.”
Since its inception in Canada in 2015, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada has awarded over $5 million in grants to public safety organizations across the country. For Milton, this latest contribution promises to enhance both firefighter safety and service delivery for years to come.
