Residents are being given the opportunity to help choose the name of a new public elementary school in Oro-Medonte.
Simcoe County District School Board students were sent home with a letter last week, that invites the community to submit name suggestions for the school, which will be located on Horseshoe Valley Rd.
The board encourages submissions to reflect the area’s environmental setting, history, and community diversity, with features like the Oro Moraine and Copeland Forest playing a significant role in the region’s identity.
The deadline for submissions is March 28th, and the final name recommendation will be presented in May.
The new school, set to open in September, will accommodate 570 students.
