It only took a few weeks, but the provincial election has come and gone.
Simcoe-Grey’s results, provided by Elections Ontario:
- Brian Saunderson (PCP) – 30,572 (53%)
- Ted Crysler (OLP) – 18,549 (32%)
- Benten Tinkler (NDP) – 3,264 (5%)
- Allan Kuhn (GPO) – 3,154 (5%)
- David Ghobrial (NBP) – 1,554 (2%)
62/62 polls have reported.
With 128,213 registered electors, Simceo-Grey had 44.53% voter turnout.
Unofficially, Brian Saunderson will once again be Simcoe-Grey’s Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP).
He’ll work underneath his party leader, Doug Ford, who also retained his role as Premier of Ontario.
At the time of writing, the Progressive Conservative Party has won 80 seats with 42% of the popular vote. The NDP will remain as the Official Opposition with 27 seats, though the Ontario Liberal Party managed nearly 600,000 more votes across the province in comparison.
