After playing two games over the weekend, the Milton Menace made the long trip to Leamington on Monday, February 24th to take on the Flyers.
This game was originally set to take place on February 6th, but that game postponed due to weather.
The game proved to be a defensive match-up between two of the top teams in the OJHL West Conference. It was a scoreless bout through regulation, with the teams coming up fairly even on the shot count. It took double overtime for the first goal to be scored, with Leamington pulling out the 1-0 win.
Austin McKillop was in net for Milton, facing 32 of 33 shots. That gives him a .969% save percentage on the night.
The Menace now have a few days off to rest and get ready for the final road swing of the regular season. They take on the King Rebellion on Friday, February 28th. Game time at the Zancor Centre is set for 7:30 p.m.
They return home in March for their first playoff game. We’ll have more on that game as the season comes to an end.
