The Milton Menace were only able to play in one of their scheduled two games this past weekend.
On Friday, February 14th, the Menace welcomed in the Caledon Admirals to the Milton Memorial Arena. The boys were looking to avoid falling to the trap game, something that happened earlier in the season when Caledon got the win. Read more here.
The scoring took a little bit to get going, as Madden MacDougall opened things up 15 minutes into the first period. His shorthanded goal was his 24th of the season, assisted by Henry Attard and Marcus Tryfon. Milton led the Admirals 1-0 after one period of play.
In the second period, the Menace went ballistic on offence. Just over two minutes into the frame, Captain Graeme MacAuley buried his 9th of the year, assisted by Dean Deligeorgis and Tristan Tremble. One minute later, Owen Kindree scored his 3rd of the year, with help from Spencer Vandenberg and Ivan Fabjan. That was quickly followed by a goal from 16-year-old Ryder Cali. 20th of the season was assisted by Kindree and Attard. Tremble then got on the board a minute later, with his 6th goal of the year receiving help from Deligeorgis and Nathan Catalano. At the halfway mark in the period, Justin Dezoete nabbed his 9th of the year, with MacDougall and Cole Semeniuk getting the apples. After all that, the Menace led 6-0 heading into the second intermission.
Caledon would get on the board in the board, but it wouldn’t be enough as Milton got the 6-1 win.
Austin McKillop got the win for the Menace. He stopped 22 of 23 shots, giving him a stellar .956% save percentage.
As mentioned, the Menace were unable to play their second game of the weekend.
They were scheduled to play the Collingwood Blues at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena. That game was postponed due to the weather. This was the second time this month that Milton had to postpone a game due to weather, with a match-up against the Leamington Flyers being deferred as well.
The Menace now have a day game on Monday, February 17th as part of some Family Day action. They take on the King Rebellion at the Milton Memorial Arena. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
