Speed cameras in Essa Township have proven quite effective in reducing speeding and improving road safety.
According to a recent report, Essa saw a 29% average reduction in speed in various locations throughout 2024, and a 38% increase in speed compliance.
The report also found that there were zero speed-related collisions at automated speed-enforcement monitored sites and dramatic change in driver behavior, particularly on Centre Street where average speeds decreased from 89 km/h to 47 km/h.
