Area roads have seen plenty of snow so far this winter.
Meaning plows have been spending a lot of time, trying to clear the way for motorists.
However, drivers passing snow plows can be dangerous, in some cases causing collisions.
A law passed in September of 2023, makes it illegal to pass a working snow plow on multi-lane roads or highways with a speed limit of 80 km/h or above.
Police are reminding drivers that violating this law can result in fines of $150 to $1,000, along with charges such as stunt or careless driving.
If you get stuck behind a plow, you might as well call in late to work… Snow plows with their blade down are required to remain at a speed of 40 km/h or less.
