Two Burlington residents are lottery winners!
Gordon Firman and Sor Dennis won $500,000 in the October 15th LOTTO MAX draw.
Firman and Dennis have been playing the lottery together for about four years, picking up LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49 tickets once or twice a week. They enjoy going for long drives, stopping in different communities to take in the scenery and share a meal. During one of their recent adventures, Firman stopped for gas while Dennis picked up the lottery ticket. It was one that would finally lead them to a big win!
“I used the ticket checker to see how we did on our LOTTO MAX ticket,” said Dennis, while she and Firman visited the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their winnings. “I immediately started to shake and felt as though I was going to faint. Gordon started tearing up. We were both overwhelmed with happiness.”
The two think they might put the money towards buying a home, along with a potential visit to see family in Thailand.
LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $8.9 billion since 2009, including 111 jackpot wins and 937 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province. LOTTO MAX is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Esso/Circle K on Walkers Line in Burlington.
