The westbound lanes of the QEW were closed at Bronte Street due to an overnight single vehicle rollover.
Three people were inside the vehicle.
Two taken to hospital.
A 9-year-old child, with critical injuries was pronounced deceased.
The 38-year-old driver remains in hospital with critical injuries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact police.
All lanes have since reopened.
