The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board has been hit by a data breach involving the system used by schools across North America.
The breach, happened between December 22 and the 28, exposing student names, addresses, contact information, and demographic details.
PowerSchool, the system affected, has taken responsibility for the breach and is working with experts to resolve the issue..
School boards in Toronto, and across the country were also impacted.
No financial information, student images, or sensitive data was accessed.
There is no indication that the Simcoe County District School Board was compromised.
