It took just 25 minutes for the first baby of 2025 to be born in Halton.
Olesia Josephine Price arrived at 12:25 a.m. on January 1st, 2025 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, weighing 7 lbs and 0.5 oz. Both mother and baby are doing well, and the family was surrounded by well-wishes from the hospital staff, professional team, and volunteers.
“We are thrilled to celebrate this special moment with the family, and we extend our congratulations for the new year,” said Cheryl Hoare, Program Director, Women and Children at Halton Healthcare. “The birth of a child is always an unforgettable moment, and we are grateful to be part of such a special milestone for this family and our community.”
In the past year, Halton Healthcare’s Women and Children team at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Milton District Hospital, and Georgetown Hospital supported the arrival of 4,763 babies.
“We are immensely grateful to our team members, especially those who worked through the 2024 holiday season, for their commitment and dedication to our patients,” said Melissa Farrell, President and CEO. “Their care and expertise make a real difference to families in our community.”
Here in Milton, the first baby arrived at 12:35 a.m. on January 1st. Adab was delivered via c-section, weighing 7-pounds.
