An arrest has been made following a vehicle theft in Oakville.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says on Friday, November 29th, at 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a home in the area of Neyagawa Boulevard and Ashdown Road after a Mercedes SUV was stolen from the driveway.
Two suspects were seen in the stolen vehicle as they fled before police arrived. The suspects did not enter the home.
The 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau took over the investigation and attempted to locate the stolen vehicle. Utilizing a variety of investigative techniques, at roughly 11:25 p.m., they found the stolen vehicle in Toronto.
As a result of the investigation, 38-year-old Sean Paszkowski-Brown of Toronto has been charged with the following:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle
- Drive While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
Paszkowski-Brown was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
A second suspect remains outstanding and is described by the HRPS as:
- Male
- wearing all black clothing and a black mask
