The Salvation Army Khi community will be holding their annual food drive this weekend.
On Saturday, December 7th, they’ll partner once again with the Milton Fire Department and local grocery stores to collect donations of nonperishable foods for the food bank. Donations received during this food drive are essential for the support of more than 1100 Milton households facing food insecurity throughout 2025.
It’ll be held from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at multiple locations, including Sobeys, Metro, No Frills, Food Basics, Superstore, and Walmart. Each location will be hosted by the youth of a Milton sports team or community group. Donations are collected and delivered to The Salvation Army by the Milton Fire Department.
Paper bags will be distributed at the entrance of each location and can be filled with purchases, then returned to the hosts. Most needed items include rice, peanut butter, soup, crackers, & hot drinks.
If you’d like to make a monetary donation, a fundraising Kettle can be found at each location for the duration of the event, accepting cash, cheques, and debit/credit taps.
“Every donation of food and funds makes a tangible difference in the lives of Milton residents who are facing impossible choices,” says the Salvation Army Khi community in a release. “Together, we are neighbours helping neighbours. Together we are building resiliency and strengthening our community. Thank you!”
