The Barrie Police Service is looking for several suspects in a robbery that took place inside a local transit shelter.
On Monday, November 11th, at 9:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at the corner of Livingstone Street East and Michael Crescent in Barrie. The victim had been waiting in a transit shelter when two unknown males dressed in black and wearing face masks approached him. It’s believed the suspects assaulted the victim and took his cell phone after he attempted to get away from the attackers. One of the suspects threw the phone to the ground, causing damage.
The suspects fled the area and were last seen running northbound on Michael Crescent prior to police arrival.
A search of the area failed to locate the suspects.
Barrie Police add that both males were wearing black hoodies (one may have had a white logo on it) and one suspect is possibly a teenager, though no approximate age was determined.
The victim sustained a minor non-life-threatening injury and did not require hospital treatment.
Anyone with information, dash camera video or may have witnessed this incident is asked to contact the investigating officer Barrie Police Constable Martinell by email at 12385@barriepolice.ca.
