NOTE: This is my last morning show! Thank you for listening. Tune in on weekends in Milton, Alliston, and Orangeville moving forward!
Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is reportedly afraid of ketchup.
Now, McDavid is in the news this week for several reasons. The one I want to talk about is his disdain for our favourite red condiment.
Do you have a food that, no matter what, you refuse to eat? What is it?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – Milton Public Library holding free film screening for seniors
You could spend an afternoon seeing Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers! The Milton Public Library is holding an afternoon screening of A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood. This is the 2019 film about Mr. Rogers being interviewed by a journalist as they walk all around New York City. This is a free event for seniors. It’s being held tomorrow at the Beaty library branch on Fourth Line. The movie starts at 2pm. No registration is required.
Daily WTF – Burglar hung out washing and cooked meal for victim
A man in Cardiff, Wales broke into a home recently, and he didn’t just take things. Damian Wojnilowicz reportedly hung out the resident’s laundry that was in the washing machine, put away her groceries, and even cooked her dinner on her stove. The woman returned and was terrified that a stranger was seemingly looking after her – he even took the garbage and recycling to the curb! The man was eventually arrested after he tried to do the same thing at another residence a few weeks later. I’m sure his heart was in the right place, but that’s creepy. Very, very creepy.
Daily Did You Know – Milton Public Library sharing spooky stories around Kelso campfire
Tonight, you can gather around the campfire at Kelso Conservation Area and listen to some spooky stories! It’s finally October and the Milton Public Library wants to set the mood just right. They’re inviting residents to the campground tonight for an evening of family fun and spooky stories. Entry fee is $9 per adult, with kids up to 14 getting in for free.
Looking for work? School bus drivers wanted in Halton
If you’re in the market for some work, then there’s a school bus with your name on it. We’ve had a bit of an issue with having a lack of bus drivers across Halton. This has caused delays and even route cancellations for students. Halton Student Transportation Services says they need about 35 more drivers to properly run things this school year. If you think you can handle the hustle and bustle early morning lifestyle of a school bus driver, then apply now!
Here’s when kindergarten open houses are available for local catholic schools
Believe it or not, but kids born during the pandemic are now entering Kindergarten! I know, time flies. If your child will be four or five years old by the end of 2025, you’ll need to get them ready for school soon. The Halton Catholic District School Board knows that, and they’re holding Kindergarten Open Houses this fall to get things ready for you. Sign up and attend! They’re having four meetings, each one for the four different municipalities in Halton. Milton’s is happening on Thursday, November 7th at St. Scholastica Catholic Elementary School on Whitlock Avenue. It starts at 6:30 p.m.
Oasis announces new dates for North American tour, including 2nd Toronto show
Demand has been high for Oasis as they’ve announced more dates for their North American reunion tour next year. That includes a second date in Toronto! They’ll be performing at the brand-spanking-new Rogers Stadium, which is still being built at Downsview Park. 50,000 people will sit outside and watch Oasis, now two nights in a row next August! Tickets are still available, but they’re going fast and pricy! Good luck!
GOOD NEWS – Inspirational 101-year-old says young people should ‘dance whenever you can’
Murial Eva Lindars recently celebrated her 101st birthday. It’s quite the accomplishment to live that long. When asked about her secret for longevity, Lindars said it comes down to dancing! She feels young people should get up and dance whenever they want! Whether it was art, work, or her family, she says she’s happy with the life she lived, and that is some good news.
Canada just got a coin that can tell time
The Royal Canadian Mint is getting a little creative with their coins as of late. Announced this week, the Mint unveiled a new coin that not only looks like a sundial but it can be used as one as well. The silver coin has roman numerals around it, with a dial sticking out from the centre. When placed flat in the saving, with the top facing true north, this coin should tell you what the time is. 5000 of them are being made, and can be yours for $160. I’m not a coin collector by any means, but this definitely the coolest coin I’ve ever seen!
Pink Floyd Sells Music Rights to Sony for $400 Million
It appears as though the Dark Side of the Moon comes with a fair amount of cash. Pink Floyd are the latest musical act to sell their music catalogue. The band members will now split $400 million amongst themselves. Not a bad payday! That’s just shy of Bruce Springsteen, who got roughly $500 million, and around what Bob Dylan got for his music. There’s also reports that the remaining members of Queen will get more than $1 billion for their catalogue, but it seems that isn’t official just yet. But good job for the guys in Pink Floyd. If only I could sing, play an instrument and write music… I might be a millionaire by now!
