After more than nine months of investigating, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made multiple arrests in connection to a pair of suspicious fires that took place in Burlington last year.
In early December, police responded to two fires on separate nights at the same residential address on Lodi Road, located near the intersection of Dundas Street and Walkers Line in Burlington.
The first fire took place on Saturday, December 2nd, and caused minor damage. The second fire took place on Monday, December 4th, and completely destroyed three unoccupied homes while damaging others. The total cost of the damage between the two incidents is estimated at roughly $1.7 million dollars.
A lengthy investigation was conducted. It has now resulted in arrests and charges for three suspects.
In connection with the fire that took place on December 2nd, the following have been arrested and charged:
- 34-year-old Zani Redzepovski of Ajax – one count of Arson, Damage to Property.
- 40-year-old Lee Anthony of Courtice – one count of Arson, Damage to Property.
In connection with the fire that took place on December 4th, the following have been arrested and charged:
- 40-year-old Lee Anthony of Courtice – one count of Arson, Disregard Human Life.
- 38-year-old Barry Neads of Clarington – one count of Arson, Disregard Human Life.
All three accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
No motive was provided by the HRPS.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has deemed a residential fire in Burlington as suspicious.
On Monday, December 4th, at roughly 4:15 a.m., emergency crews were called to an address on Lodi Road in Burlington. This residential neighbourhood, located near the intersection of Dundas Street and Walkers Line in northeast Burlington, contains a mix of occupied homes as well as unoccupied homes that are currently under construction.
No injuries were sustained; however, the fire destroyed three unoccupied homes on Lodi Road. Two additional homes were damaged, including one occupied home.
The fire is now being investigated by the HRPS 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau, along with the office of the Fire Marshal.
Police responded to the same address on Lodi Road for a fire on Saturday, December 2nd, which caused minor damage. That fire is also suspicious.
Police are asking witnesses to come forward, along with anyone who observed suspicious activity, or who has dash cam footage of the area of Walkers Line and Dundas Street, or near the GO stop/407 Carpool lot just west of the intersection.
