A Milton man is now $1 million richer after winning the lottery!
Carlos Da Silva matched all seven Encore numbers in exact order in the Friday, September 6th Lotto Max draw.
The truck driver has been playing the lottery with OLG for more than 30 years. He is now celebrating his first big win and the thrill of becoming a millionaire!
“My wife and I were on our way home after dropping off some donation items at a local retirement home,” Carlos recounted while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I decided to check my ticket on the OLG App. When my wife realized what we had won, she started screaming! I was a little calmer,” Carlos smiled. “All we could say was ‘OMG!’ over and over, as we made our way home. We shared the news with our family, and they were overjoyed!”
When asked how it felt to win a life-changing prize, Carlos said:
“I can’t explain what I’m feeling and that’s the honest truth! I haven’t been able to sleep for days due to the joy I feel.”
With his windfall, Da Silva is looking to buy a home.
The winning ticket was purchased at Sobeys Extra at the corner of Louis St. Laurent Avenue and Bronte Street South in Milton.
