The Milton Menace are off to a good start in Niagara Falls.
They’re there for the OJHL Governor’s Showcase. On Monday, September 23rd, the team played the Aurora Tigers. It started off well for the Menace, as Gabriel Ciarallo scored an unassisted goal, his 6th of the season, just five minutes into the game. The Tigers would tie things up before the end of the opening frame. It was 1-1 after 20 minutes of action.
In the second period, the Menace scored two quick goals. The first of which was from Lucas Tye, assisted by Nathan Catalano and Marcus Tryfon, and that was quickly followed up by Ashtyn Pacheco. His 3rd of the season was assisted by Christian Holden. About eight minutes later, 16-year-old Ryder Cali continued his hot start to his OJHL career with his 6th of the season, assisted by Catalano and Philip Zivanovic. Aurora would get one back, but the Menace led 4-2 after two periods of play.
The third period was mostly uneventful, with Andrew Giljanovic getting on the board, scoring his 1st of the year, assisted by Tristan Tremble. The Menace would win 5-2.
In net for Milton was Ethan Kowatsch. He stopped 18 of 20 shots, giving him an even .900% save percentage.
The team has a second game for the showcase, as they play the Trenton Golden Hawks on Tuesday, September 24th. Game time is once again set for 11:00 a.m.
They’re back home on Friday, September 27th against the King Rebellion. Puck drop at the Milton Memorial Arena will be at 7:30 p.m.
