Do you ever lie to your kids?
A lot of people are talking about the ways in which they’ve lied to their kids after Jason Kelce touched on this recently. He says he tells his kids that cats are poisonous in order to avoid getting one.
Have you ever done something like this? What lie did you tell?
Let me know!

Daily WTF – Soccer player injured after ‘pretty hefty sneeze’
How loud do your sneezes get? Do you put some power into those things? For soccer player Victor Adeboyejo, his sneeze was so strong that he wound up on the injured list. His coach was breaking down who will be sitting in a recent game with the media, and he said “Victor is a powerful boy.” So powerful that he threw his back out sneezing. The Nigerian player will sit out and hopefully rest his back in the meantime. Poor guy!

Each week, we speak with Milton Historical Society President John Challinor about the origins of local street names. This week, we have streets named after a former television personality-turned-politician and a former local farmer! We’ll have two more street names next week.
Oakville man plans to pay off mortgage with lottery win
A lot of people continue to feel the effects of inflation across the country. As things start to even out a bit, it’d be nice if we got a few wins in our day-to-day life. For Oakville’s Christopher Gilbert, his personal win came in the form of a quarter of a million dollars! The financier decided to buy a spontaneous lottery ticket last month when he saw the high jackpot. That decision will now be paying off the rest of his mortgage and funding his next family vacation. Good for him! Gilbert’s winning ticket was purchased at the Canadian Tire Gas Station on Kerr Street in Oakville.
GOOD NEWS – Child with Autism Found Safe After Wandering Into Woods
Kids like to go on adventures. They might not be aware of how dangerous it can be to just wander off sometimes. For the parents of a five-year-old girl in Tampa, they were especially worried as their daughter managed to wander into a Florida swamp. Thankfully, the local police department went into the woods using thermal technology. They managed to locate her soaking wet in the middle of a bog. She was returned home safe and sound, and that is some good news!
Paris Mayor Wants to Keep the Olympic Rings on the Eiffel Tower
The Paralympic Games wrapped up over the weekend, which is the official end of the Summer Olympics. A lot of people had nothing but great things to say about their experience in Paris, France this year. It was such a success that the mayor of the city is hoping to keep it going. Mayor Anne Hidalgo has received permission from the Olympic Committee to keep the five ringed logo up on the Eiffel Tower. She says her goal is to keep the festive spirit alive. Some people are worried that it might sully the legacy of the tower. That said, if you’ve ever seen the Eiffel Tower in person, it is what it is. It’s a cool landmark, but the show ‘Ted Lasso’ put it pretty accurately: It’s a lamppost with a publicist. The rings might spruce it up a bit.
Rap star Kendrick Lamar will headline 2025 Super Bowl halftime show
The Super Bowl halftime show will be sticking with hip hop for another year! Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headliner for the annual “biggest concert of the year.” He was previously on it as part of a group effort along with Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and more. It’s been quite the year for the rapper, most notably winning his beef with Drake. He’s now capping it off with the Super Bowl. I feel kind of bad for Drake right now, I won’t lie. But also, like, Kendrick is KENDRICK… So, yeah. Good for him!
Slide over salsa: K-pop takes socialist Cuba by storm
If you were to list of the places in the world that are obsessed with K-Pop, I doubt you’d ever get to Cuba. It seems Korean Pop music has made quite the impact on the island. When it comes to music, Cuba is famous for being the birthplace of salsa. But, teens arrived at a club in Havana this past weekend for a K-Pop night, and it was a MAJOR success. Not even Cubans can resist the charm and catchy beats of BTS!
