Do you like to dine alone?
According to data from reservation booking site OpenTable, 68% of Gen Zers and Millennials have eaten out solo at least once in the last year. 63-65% of them plan to continue doing so.
I’m a big fan of dining alone. I kind of wish I did it more often! But, I can see how people don’t enjoy doing it.
Where do you stand?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – Here’s everything you need to know about Milton’s Terry Fox Run
You’ll need to get those running shoes ready… The Terry Fox Run in Milton is coming soon. The Terry Fox Foundation says their annual run will be held on Sunday, September 15th. Here in Milton, it will once again be held at EC Drury, starting at 10am. This is one of my favourite events every year, as people get together and run to raise money for cancer research, all in the name of (in my opinion) the greatest Canadian, Terry Fox. Registration starts at 8:30am.
Daily WTF – Michael Keaton says he is going to start using his real name
Actor Michael Keaton has decided it’s about time to change his name. You see, his name isn’t actually Michael Keaton. His real name is Michael Douglas, but for obvious reasons, he wasn’t allowed to use that as his stage name when he started acting. Now, at 73-years-old, Keaton has decided its time to start including the real him. While doing press junkets for the new Beetlejuice movie, he says it’s about time he changed his stage name. Very soon, you could start hearing him referred to as Michael Keaton Douglas, combining the name we know him for with his true self. For me, I’ll always know him by a different name… Batman.
Daily Did You Know – You can walk this month to support those with kidney disease
The Kidney Foundation of Canada is getting ready for their annual Kidney Walk. It supports those with kidney disease, honors loved ones, and celebrates transplants. This year is the 60thanniversary of the Foundation. Register now to take part in the Halton Region Kidney Walk. It’ll take place on September 22nd at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park in Oakville.
Happy Birthday to my mom!
Just want to wish my mom a happy birthday. She would have been 66-years-old today! My wife and I will celebrate her by doing what my mom and I had always done for her birthday: dinner and a movie. And we’re seeing the new Beetlejuice movie, which she would have loved to see. Very excited!
GOOD NEWS – Barkley Rewards School After Pythagorean Theorem Victory
Two students at a high school in New Orleans, Louisiana did something incredible recently. They solved the Pythagorean Theorem using trigonometry. This is something that has stumped mathematicians for 2000 years! I’ve read that they are the second and third people to ever do it, and this feat has impressed one celebrity in particular. Basketball legend and broadcaster Charles Barkley was so moved by their story on an episode of 60 Minutes that he has decided to reward them. He promised $1 million to the two girls’ school. The first payment arrived this past week, and they are expected to receive $100,000 every year for ten total years. When asked why he’d donate all that money for a seemingly unrelated cause, a representative of the Charles Barkley Foundation says, “[Barkley] has a love and passion for what the academy stands for and how it is shaping the lives and futures of young girls in New Orleans.” And that is some good news!
Ocean’s 14 Gets Major Development Update As George Clooney & Brad Pitt Eye Returns
Brad Pitt and George Clooney are together once again, starring in the new action drama ‘Wolfs’ together. The duo are famous for working together, with many people knowing them from their run on the Ocean’s trilogy. Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13 are some of my wife’s favourite movies, which means I’ve also seen them like a thousand times. They’re great movies! Thing is, they might not be done with just a trilogy. George Clooney and Brad Pitt are rumoured to be working on Ocean’s 14. It’s unknown who else from the original cast could also return, whether it’s Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Julia Roberts, and more. And then there’s the chance of adding new actors to the mix! No timeline has been announced, but Ocean’s 14 seems to be all but confirmed…
Linkin Park has a new singer and a new album on the way
It has been seven years since the death of Chester Bennington. The Linkin Park singer was the driving force of the band, which has seemingly been put on hold in the time since. Well, seven years later, it seems the group have found a replacement, and are working on a new album. Emily Armstrong will take over as lead singer. The decision has seemingly been met with mix reactions, with people happy to see new music from the band, but unhappy with Armstrong’s connections to Scientology and vocal support of Danny Masterson. We’ll see if that plays a factor in this comeback for Linkin Park. They released a new single this week, ‘The Emptiness Machine‘. A new 11-track album, ‘From Zero’, will be released on November 15th.
‘Only Murders in the Building’ Renewed for Season 5
One of the biggest shows on streaming is getting ANOTHER season. Disney just recently the first few episodes of season 4 of ‘Only Murders in the Building’. If you haven’t seen the show yet, highly recommend! It’s Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez solving murders that happen to take place in their condo building, all while creating a popular true-crime podcast. Well, with season 4 still being released over the next few weeks, Disney has reportedly signed on for a fifth season! No word on when season 5 would come out, but it’s very possible it’s this time next year. Which I am very thankful for…
