The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested a pair of suspects following a break-in at a local business.
On Thursday, August 15th, at 2:11 a.m., officers were dispatched to a mechanic garage at 142 Cross Avenue in Oakville in response to a suspicious vehicle and two suspicious people in the area of the garage. When they arrived on scene, the suspects were seen attempting to break into the building by forcing open the rear door. Both suspects were quickly taken into custody without incident. The building was unoccupied at the time of entry.
44-year-old Michael Maiato of no fixed address has been charged with the following:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Break and Enter Instruments
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
42-year-old Christopher Fenton of no fixed address has been charged with the following:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Break and Enter Instruments
- Fail to Comply with Release Order (2 Counts)
Both Maiato and Fenton have been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
Fenton had been subject to two separate release orders for similar offences at the time of his arrest.
