In one month, I’ll be 30 years old.
I’m already finding grey hairs. My wife is more enthused than I am. For me, it’s partially like, “whatever,” but also like, “well, I’m getting old and this isn’t fun.”
Some people start to see greys as a teenager, so I guess 30 isn’t too bad. There are some people, even without the help of hair dye, have thick heads of hair with their natural colour well into their fifties and sixties.
When did you start to see greys? How did you react to them?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – The history behind Milton’s Haws Crescent and Nairn Circle
Each week, Milton Historical Society President John Challinor details the origins of select local street names. We covered two streets named after pioneer farming families in Milton this week. We’ll have two more streets next week.
Daily WTF – Who dumped a pile of lobsters alongside the highway? OPP looking for answers
Someone in Ontario is in big trouble. OPP are looking for whoever dumped a big pile of lobsters alongside the highway near North Bay. It’s believed there were over 100 lobsters. They all had elastics on their claws, but it’s unclear if these were store bought or caught fresh from the water. Police say this could have caused major roadside issues for the highway as these lobsters will decompose, cause an odor, and attract all kinds of wildlife. That likely wouldn’t have been good for people driving by. Not to mention, it’s just an absolute waste. Think of how many lobster rolls could be made with 100+ lobsters! It hurts my heart just thinking about it.
Daily Did You Know – Here’s where you should (and should not) swim in Halton
Good news! The Halton Region says most of the beaches in the area have cleared up and now safer for swimming. If you’re looking to cool down from this hot summer, then you can try heading to a local beach. The Region routinely samples the water to make sure they are safe for visitors. Nine beaches were checked, with seven being determined to be safe for swimming. That includes Milton’s Kelso Beach and their new waterpark. You are cautioned that things can change day-to-day and even hour-to-hour thanks to rainfall and other factors. The rule they have is if you can’t see you feet while standing in waist high water as an adult, don’t go swimming!
GOOD NEWS – How LEGO is helping adults heal from trauma
It’s always important to remember that not everyone had a good childhood. In fact, a lot of us have likely suffered some sort of trauma that has carried into our adulthoods, affecting how we interact with people in some way. That’s where a popular children’s toy is coming into play. A growing trend over the last few decades has been adult LEGO collections. People have found that collecting and building with these blocks is allowing adults handle and navigate their trauma. A military veteran was cited as using LEGO to treat her PTSD, saying it helps her reprogram her brain “to work through distractions and frustration that are often triggered as a result of trauma.” She’s not alone, with hundreds of thousands of people being a part of an online community designed entirely for adults who collect LEGO… And that’s some good news!
Is Tiktok’s Viral ‘Morning Shed’ Trend Beneficial For Your Skin?
TikTok has a new skincare routine that is going viral, and there’s a chance you’re already doing a smaller version of it already. It’s called ‘Morning Shed’, and it has people using all of their big guns at night. People are going to bed with multiple products on their skin, including anti-wrinkle patches, mouth tape, eye masks, and overnight sheet masks, and then remove them in the morning to reveal refreshed skin. It seems dermatologists are recommending avoiding this overkill trend, but millions and millions of people are watching videos on it, so people are trying it. Would you try the Morning Shed routine? Or are you sticking with your nightly routine? Let me know!
Ryan Reynolds might cause NSYNC to chart once again following Deadpool opening scene
Ryan Reynolds might be taking a page out of his good friend Taylor Swift’s playbook and affect the music charts. Deadpool and Wolverine was released in theatres last week and one of the biggest weekends ever in film. However, it’s the opening scene that is generating a lot of buzz in the music world as it features a dance sequence by Reynolds’ character Deadpool. It shows him facing off against the Time Variance Authority while dancing to NSYNC’s ‘Bye Bye Bye’. This has caused a MASSIVE uptick in streaming for the song, and it’s believed will cause the song to potentially chart once again this week. The movie’s been out for just a few days and has already made nearly half a billion dollars, so if you’re hoping to see it, now might be a good time…
