An arrest has been made following an investigation into a residential break-and-enter case in Oakville.
On Sunday, April 28th, at roughly 2:30 a.m., three masked suspects broke into a home on Pinehurst Drive. The suspects used a rock to smash a glass door at the front of the home. Investigators believe the suspects were targeting the keys to a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home; however, they were unable to locate them and fled in a previously stolen vehicle.
The residents were home at the time of the break-in and were not physically injured.
Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) officers located the getaway vehicle abandoned later that same day in Toronto and after a lengthy investigation identified a suspect.
On Thursday, July 11th, HRPS officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Toronto and arrested one of the three suspects.
21-year-old Shahfaisal Qureshi of Toronto has been charged with the following:
- Break and Enter
- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Qureshi was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
Police are still seeking two additional suspects and anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2216.
