Would you consider taking a ‘sleepcation’?
This is something that’s catching on among Gen Z and Millennials. Instead of going off and seeing the world, or travelling south to somewhere warm, these people are taking time off to sleep and hit the refresh button.
People are posting videos of themselves in fancy hotel rooms and their plan is just to relax. No site seeing planned; no partying to take place; just sleep.
What do you think? Would you give a ‘sleepcation’ a try?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – There will be a Pride Parade in Milton this weekend
A Pride Parade is being held in Milton this weekend. It’s being held by PRISM Halton. They’re hoping it’ll be even bigger and better than last year. The second annual Halton Pride Parade will be this Sunday along Milton’s Main Street. There will be a vendor market open at noon, with the parade starting at 2:00 p.m.
Daily WTF – Nudists tackle ‘pirate’ after random attack on tourist in the Castro
I want you to imagine something. Picture what it’d be like to suddenly be attacked by a stranger on the street. It’d be HORRIFIC, right? Now, imagine that the person who comes to your rescue is a naked man… Yeah, this actually happened in San Francisco recently. A person was confronted by a stranger on the street. This person was threatening the victim with a blowtorch. That’s when a pair of nudists decided to step in. One of them gave the attacker a right hook and that scared the person off. It’s the worst game of skirts versus skins ever. The victim was physically unharmed thanks to the naked man, who is BY FAR my least favourite member of the Justice League.
Daily Did You Know – Here’s who will be joining the Milton Menace next season
It might be the middle of July, but hockey is right around the corner. The Milton Menace have been busy reshaping their team for another competitive season. That means there will be some new faces on the roster this fall. They have completed their prospect camp and have announced several new signings. Joining the team will be Five forwards and Two defencemen. On that list is Milton-native Lucas Tye, so congrats to Lucas!

Strange sign posted on Toronto café patio has people asking questions
If you like to communicate with the dead using Ouija Boards, then you are not welcome at Milky’s Coffee on Dundas Street West in Toronto. The small independent café has gone viral online after their newest sign was spotted by a passerby. It ominously reads, “Due to recent events, Ouija Boards are no longer permitted on the patio.” You might hear that and think, “what the heck happened here? Did someone get possessed? Is the coffee shop now haunted? Will the ghost make my latte if I ask nicely?” The answers to all of those questions are: “Nothing, no, no, and no.” Yeah, it was just a joke made by the staff there. Too bad! We could have the next tourist trap on our hands… But this opens the ghost café door to any Milton coffee shops listening right now. I’m just saying, people pay a lot to stay at haunted hotels, they might might pay a lot to drink a haunted cappuccino…
The Killers reveal why they’ll never get sick of performing record-breaking “Mr Brightside”
Famous rock band ‘The Killers’ are now Guinness World Record holders. For the last 416 weeks, and counting, their hit song ‘Mr. Brightside’ has been on the UK charts. That is nearly eight years as one of the most played and listened to songs on the planet. No other song in the UK has touched that number, and thus, the band has broken a pair of records. Thing is, some bands get tired of their big hits, and they almost start to resent these massive songs. But when accepting the plaques ahead of their show at the O2 in London, the band talked about how the song still brings them joy, saying they’ll never get tired of playing it. And I can attest to this! I saw them live in 2022 with my wife in Toronto. Not only did they play the song, but they closed with it, technically played it twice, and had confetti go during the chorus. So, don’t worry: The Killers love Mr. Brightside just as much as the rest of us do.
GOOD NEWS – They fled from their home countries. Now, they’ll compete in Paris for the Refugee Olympic Team
2024 is a scary time for a lot of people. There’s a lot of war going on around the world. Many people are fleeing their home country because they just won’t survive otherwise. Refugees are settling into their new homes, and some of them will be going for gold at the upcoming Olympics in Paris. Later this month, 36 athletes from 11 countries will compete in the Summer Games as part of the Refugee Olympic Team. This team was first created back in 2016, and they’ll continue to compete moving forward. They’re described as a symbol of hope for all those who need it, and that’s some good news!
This Canadian city is among the world’s top 10 places to travel in 2024
You might be like myself and about to head on vacation. If you are, congrats to you! Look at us, get some nice R&R. But, if you’re still looking over vacation ideas, let me introduce you to Travel Lemming’s 2024 Travel Guide. Their experts have found their top 50 cities to see for this year, and one Canadian city made the top 10. I’m telling you right now, you probably won’t be able to guess (I wasn’t able to, at least). Yucatán, Mexico was number one on the list, followed by Gizo, Solomon Islands, and Stavanger, Norway in third. The one Canadian city? St. John’s, Newfoundland. The list says, “Heartwarming locals welcome visitors to this colourful city in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Explore historic sites, stunning landscapes, and waterfront eateries serving craft beer and seafood.” So, if you’re looking to stay in the country on your next vacation, then head east! It’ll be a one of a kind experience.
Forget Honeymoons — This Unconventional Vacation Is All The Rage Right Now
As we prepare to enter the dogdays of summer, a lot of people might be freshly single. That tends to be a trend for the summer months, with people then shacking up with someone once things get colder around here. If you are freshly single, or maybe you’re preparing to BECOME freshly single very soon, you might want to consider the latest vacation trend. You’ve heard of honeymoons, but what about ‘Breakup-Moons’. People are going on vacation with their exes to celebrate the end of their relationship. The reasons for these trips vary. Some people already planned the vacation before the relationship, and they can’t get their money back. Some people are just looking for that time off and don’t mind spending it with someone they know, even if it’s their ex. And the most interesting one: Vacationing with your ex will remind you WHY they’re your ex. For every rom-com about getting back together after a wacky vacation romp, there’s 1000 red flags telling you to leave Josh in the past. So, consider vacationing with Josh, but that’s it. No more. Breakup-Moons: very interesting!
