Milton Menace fans cheer the team on during 2019-2020 season
The Milton Menace have had a busy offseason!
They were eliminated in the second round of the OJHL playoffs by the Leamington Flyers. It was a record setting year for the young organization, as they set franchise records for wins in season, points in a season, and winning percentage.
As we settle into the summer, the team has finished up with their prospect camp and have announced a number of signings:
- Kaden Smith / Forward / 6’0″, 180lbs / New Glasgow, Nova Scotia
- Spent the 2023-2024 hockey season in the Unites States, playing for Hoosac Prep School in New York, where he led the team with 10 goals in 17 games. The Menace describe him as “a skilled forward with electric speed and Menacing physicality…” He turns 18 this coming season.
- Lucas Tye / Forward / 5’9″, 160lbs / Milton, Ontario
- The hometown boy is coming off a season with the Oakville Rangers U18 AAA team where he dominated with 33 goals in 33 games, one goal off the league lead. The Menace describe Tye as a “prolific goal scorer.” He’ll also turn 18 this coming season.
- Dean Deligeorgis / Forward / 6’0″, 176lbs / Hamilton, Ontario
- “Dean-O” got a taste of the OJHL last year, playing two games with the Georgetown Raiders. However, most of his 2023-2024 playtime went to the Hamilton Kilty Bs in the GOJHL. As the Menace note, his “playmaking” skills and “exceptional hockey sense, with a nose for the net” led him to 11 goals and 31 assists in 50 games for his hometown team. He’ll be 18-years-old next month.
- Philip Roberto / Defenceman / 6’1″, 220lbs / Mississauga, Ontario
- The thick-bodied defenceman left ‘Sauga this past season to play for the Niagara Falls Canucks in the GOJHL. While he went scoreless across 48 games, he managed to get on the board with 12 assists and bullied his way to 135 penalty minutes. “Phil is something to be reckoned with in front of the net, possesses offensive prowess, and is an excellent addition to our team,” noted the Menace. He turned 18 in April.
- Christian Holden / Defenceman / 6’7″, 220lbs / Stouffville, Ontario
- The towering defenceman is no stranger to the Ontario Junior Hockey League. He’s spent the last two season with the Aurora Tigers, racking up ten assists across 76 games played, along with one assist in ten games with his hometown Stouffville Spirit the previous year. The Menace described Holden as “an imposing force.” The son of former AHL defenceman Paul Holden will turn 20 in a few weeks.
- Andrew Giljanovic / Forward / 6’2″, 180lbs / Oakville, Ontario
- The Halton-native is coming off a campaign with the Toronto Marlboros in the U18 AAA league that saw him score just 8 goals in 50 games. However, the Menace must like what they saw in his one-game stint with the team last year, as he’ll be signing on for another season. Described by the team as having “game-breaking speed, creativity and playmaking,” along with being a great teammate. He’ll turn 19-years-old during the season.
- Kyle Burton / Forward / 6’0″, 190lbs / Burlington, Ontario
- It’s always good to add a veteran to a locker room and that’s what the Menace will get with Kyle Burton. The Burlington boy spent last season with Brantford, scoring 14 goals in 53 games played. He’ll look to up those numbers in Milton next year. The Menace say he’s “no stranger to Menacing play, is a physical threat and has a scoring touch.” He’ll turn 20-years-old come playoff time.
The Milton Menace announced earlier this summer that they will begin a partnership with the Milton Winterhawks this upcoming season. Read more here.
