Can you change a light bulb?
How about boil an egg?
If the answer is yes, you’re doing better than a decent chunk of people! A study out of the UK has found that 1/5 people are unable to do those things. It broke down common chores that appear to be uncommon. The list also included laundry, making a simple meal, and changing flat tires.
Is there a common skill that you never learned? Maybe it’s tying a shoe or simple math?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – The history behind Milton’s Dias Landing and Heaven Crescent
Each week, Milton Historical Society President John Challinor details the origins of local street names. This week, we covered a street named after a very prominent labourist in Canada, as well as a street SEEMINGLY named after the pearly gates and what lies ahead of them. We’ll have two more streets next week!
Daily WTF – Smelly planet ‘reeks of rotten eggs’
Things have been better here on earth. Whether it’s the political climate or the actual climate, sometimes it feels like we’d be better off starting over again somewhere else. Scientists are working hard on finding a potential second home in the universe for humans, and they have found some interesting things along the way. One of the planets they’re looking at is currently known as ‘HD 189733 b’. It’s an interesting cobalt blue colour, and scientists say it comes with some lacklustre features. With scorching temperatures and skies that rain glass, it’s hard to think this place would be any good. The planet’s atmosphere also consists of hydrogen sulphide, which these scientists say makes the planet reek of smelly rotten eggs. It’s essentially a planet made up of farts. Planet HD 189733 b or Uranus… You decide!

Ticketmaster reports ‘data security incident,’ customers’ personal information may have been stolen
If you have ever purchased a concert ticket online, there’s the chance your personal information has been stolen. Ticketmaster has reported what they’re calling a “data security incident” and say their customers’ personal information might have been stolen. It happened sometime between April and May. This includes your email, phone number, credit card information, and any other personal information given to Ticketmaster. So, keep an eye on your credit card statement moving forward and it might be time to change all your passwords… You know, just in case!
You can rent Doug Ford’s cottage on Airbnb
If you’ve ever wanted to spend a night with Doug Ford, well, you’re one step closer. In one of the weirder stories of the year, the Ontario’s Premier’s Muskoka cottage has gone up for use on Airbnb. It won’t be cheap, however, as the lake house is going for $750 a night. The listing says it fits eight guests, so if you have seven friends/family going with you, it might be a pretty cheap stay. And you’d get to stay in Muskoka with all the typical amenities you’d expect. No idea if there’s a Timmies anywhere close by, but knowing Dougie, there probably isn’t one too far.
GOOD NEWS – NASCAR, ABB reveal EV prototype and launch electrification innovation partnership
It seems everyone is trying their best to help fight climate change, and that even includes NASCAR. The sport racing league has announced an agreement to launch an electric racing circuit. These races will involve entirely electric cars as NASCAR aims to remove further car emissions, leading to a healthier planet… And that’s some good news!
American Hero Joey Chestnut Returns By Crushing 200 Boneless Wings
For years, it has been a tradition on the Fourth of July to watch the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest. Even as a Canadian, it’s something I look forward to every year. This year, the event still happened, but the Greatest of All Time was missing. World Record Holder and 16-time champ Joey Chestnut was no longer allowed to compete in the contest due to his new deal with Impossible Foods. So, he decided to take on a new challenge. Yesterday, Chestnut sat down at a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant and took on their boneless wings challenge. He ate 200 boneless wings in 38 minutes, dominating the company’s challenge. Hey, good for him, and good for B-Dubs to get all this free advertisement… Worked like a charm!
Justin Bieber performs at India’s mega wedding
Justin Bieber recently got the payday to end all paydays. A very rich couple in India got married recently. These billionaires had a lot to spend on their big day, so they decided to book a mini-music festival. Among the artists were Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Katy Perry. However, it was Bieber who reportedly pulled in the biggest paycheque, being paid $10 million to perform at this wedding. If you watch the videos from the wedding, I mean, that is a man who is happy to be there for the money that he’s being paid. Good for him!
The Devil Wears Prada 2 In The Works, Plot Details & Returning Stars Revealed
It is July 9th and it’s basically my wife’s Christmas morning as ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ has been announced. Reports say, even after nearly 20 years, there will be returning stars. It will follow Meryl Streep’s character as she and Emily Blunt’s character try to revive their struggling fashion magazine in the modern day. It’s unknown if Anne Hathaway is returning, but come on… Meryl Streep? Emily Blunt? That’s not too bad! No timeline has been announced, but you could expect it by 2026, just in time for the 20-year anniversary for the first film.
