Environment Canada has issued a tornado watch for the area.
Current conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes.
We are expecting heavy rain, wind gusts up to 110 km/h, there is also the possibliity hail, the size of nickels and toonies.
The weather is expected to change this afternoon and continue into the evening.
