Ryan Sideris, come on down!
A high school teacher in Milton won big on The Price is Right. He flew down with his mom over March Break to be a part of the live audience. While there, the crew began interviewing the crowd, and he won them over enough to get in front of Drew Carey on television.
Sideris says he had fun strategizing before the show.
The episode aired on Wednesday, May 1st, meaning he’s finally allowed to let the cat out of the bag.
Sideris ended up with roughly $50,000 worth of prizes. That includes a robot vacuum, iMac computer, a motorcycle, a boat, and a trip to Brazil. He received the cash equivalent for the motorcycle and plans to sell the boat, but he’s excited about the upcoming vacation.
The goal is to relay this win into other television opportunities.
He’s shown a few of his classes clips from the show. They were shocked, as they assumed, like most students, that their teacher didn’t do anything fun outside of school. He adds that he’s going to enjoy incorporating his experience into future drama classes.
For anyone looking to potentially get on The Price is Right, Sideris recommends coming up with a memorable gimmick. He says that he played up the fact that he’s a high school teacher who looks young enough to still be a high school student. People on game shows tend to be over-the-top, and he suggests portraying an exaggerated version of yourself.
